The Hobby Flying Club was originally formed in the 1960’s by a group of aviation buffs
from Alvin, Texas as an alternative to the high cost of individual ownership. The
original Alvin Aero Club grew to over 60 members and five airplanes during the 1980’s
Today the club is still dedicated to the economics of shared fixed expenses and flying
expenses being shared as used. The limited memberships are stockholders in the
ownership of the airplane as well as members of the shared expenses of Hobby Flying
Club, which is currently based at Pearland Regional Airport (KLVJ) in Pearland
Texas. We are dedicated to keeping the airplane well maintained and safe to fly. Fixed
membership normally provides ready access for spur-of-the-minute flying decisions.
